So what exactly does a Production Designer do?

Production designer is a term used in the film industry and television to refer to the person responsible for the overall look of a filmed event such as films, TV programs, music videos or adverts. Production designers have one of the key creative roles in the creation of motion pictures and television. Working directly with the director and producer, they must select the settings and style to visually tell the story. Source

I met Jack Fisk’s wife, Sissy Spacek, in 1995 in my hometown of Montgomery, Alabama. I bumped into her in Winn-Dixie of all places. LOL She was in town to film The Grass Harp. Ironically, I had planned to go with several girls from my high school theatre class to audition to be an extra for The Grass Harp, but I got sick the day before. Just had to share this memory. :)
